Creating my own tomorrow

Success is fragile – no sooner has it materialised that it collapses in on itself again. People nevertheless never cease to strive for fame. Creating My Own Tomorrow explores the polarity of success and failure in artistic work. Fame, the desire for artistic success, reemerges over and over again in pop culture: in form of a 1980’s film musical, a song by David Bowie, the title of Lady Gaga’s debut album.

2+ take up where they leave off, shedding light on the need, the passion, the urge, the inner impulse that allows people to let themselves be exploited, eke out a living, sometimes even feel a touch of fame or be crushed by it. Together with their ensemble, Philip Bussmann and Célestine Hennermann explore stories hidden in their own and foreign biographies that paint the picture of today’s artist: as a vagabond of creativity striving towards fame and side-stepping failure – we will all be stars.
